Marvel and Me

Rogue (Anna Marie) is a Marvel Comics superhero, a member of the X-Men.

More than most mutants, Rogue considers her powers a curse. She involuntarily absorbs the memories, physical strength, and, in the case of super-powered persons, abilities of anyone she touches. This prevents her from making physical contact with others, including her longtime love interest.

Huh. How ‘bout that.

Yeah, I can see the similarities. Rogue is very unique. And it will take someone just as unique to get close to her. However, love never fails.

Well, I guess I'll just have to hope for real love then.

You and me both my dear. I believe there's someone out there for everyone. And the love each of us has to share is unique. So much so, that we should value ourselves enough not to waste it on anyone except for the one.

So was that why you clinched Q's nose? So you could absorb his "powers"?

No - I clinched/put my fingers up Q's nose because I was fed up with all of his self-righteous, hateful bullshit.

We were not connecting like we used to - there was nothing there anymore, and it infuriated me. And so I brought him to his knees in an attempt to feel a rush of anything that resembled what we once knew.

And while it DID immediately give me a rush, I midway realized that I was physically doing to him exactly what he was emotionally doing to me. I had taken on his self-righteousness and his hate. And it sickened me.

Don't you mean "Marvel and I"?

No, I don't. It's a grammatical liberty taken for the sake of alliteration. But thanks for your concern.
